Paint Outing -- Great Falls, Gibson Park

My kids and I enjoyed a late afternoon / early evening out of doors to a visit to Gibson Park here in Great Falls, Montana. We were invited to attend with the Great Falls Arts Association to a "Paint Outing". It was well attended by some very nice people. They set up their space and painted, drawed, or took pictures of the scenery or whatever inspired them. Everything was very pleasant except for the mosquitos trying to make us their feast. My son, Wynston and I ran back home quickly for some spray to make the outing more enjoyable.





The scenery around the Flower Garden and Arch was lovely and here are some pictures of our activity. Hope you have something this light and fun to do this summer!

I love this Alice in Wonderland Illustration found on flickr.com. It is unique and not like others I have seen in my "hobby" of searching for things "ALICE". I don't know if there is something supposed to be at her feet or it was not meant to be there -- "a glitch".

Oak Leaves Quilt Pattern Must Have

In browsing one of my favorite sites for inspiration and future projects. I came across this beautiful oak leaves quilt pattern photo and must make one.

Right now I am almost done with my Aunt Grace Log Cabin/Embroidery Borders quilt top. Just a few more borders to stitch!

Also, I purchased even more fabrics at JoAnn's yesterday as I need to create some tops for my two sons bedrooms -- still getting adjusted from our move cross country. Since we are in Big Sky Country (I call Wilderness Country), I am going for a grizzly bear outdoor theme for them. Wynston, my 11 year old, has approved the quilt choice and fabrics.

Madame Alexander Huggums Doll Rescued from Goodwill, Great Falls, Montana on 5/30/09. She is adorable and in really clean and good shape. Just some minor repairs where her arms connect at the shoulder areas. A few stitches and she will be good as new!

My daughter, Savannah Rose, is going to pick out a name for her.
