Legal Vehicle
On a recent trip to Salt Lake City, I was impressed by this sign.
The city also had banners on their poles downtown supporting Bicycle Month in June but I was unable to get a good picture of them.
Salt Lake City is dedicated to reducing automobile congestion on roadways and protecting the public health, safety and welfare. To this end, the city is committed to improving conditions for those who choose to travel by other modes. One of the most popular alternative modes of transportation is bicycling. Salt Lake City encourages bicycling for transportation and as an enjoyable form of exercise and recreation. The following pages help explain how to properly and safely operate your bicycle (vehicle) on the roadway and how you can contribute to making bicycling a more viable mode of transportation in Salt Lake City.

Do they pay road taxes? Does the bicycle have to be licensed? What makes it a legal vehicle? Cousin Tina
ReplyDeleteThe bicycles do have to be licensed in Salt Lake City and there are rules to abide by -- check out this link to a card you can print out with the rules --http://www.slcgov.com/transportation/bicycletraffic/PDF/SaltLakeCityPocketBicycle-Laws.pdf
