Rainy Dreary Days - Time To Sew

Saturday was perfect! I even got out and played ball with my son a couple of times. The weather was right for cooking chicken on the grill.

Sunday rolled around and the wind got to kicking up. We were still able to get outside and play ball and have some laughs at our lack of graceful dance in trying to hit it.

Now Monday rolls around and it is cold, damp, and just plain blah . . . I understand some friends of mine in Tennessee have been experiencing this for quite some time now. I hope it is sunny and pleasant your way today.

I am in the mood for a big pot of soup. I think it is going to be a combination of creamy potato and cheesy broccoli with some corn and crumbled bacon thrown in. My family really enjoys soup on cooler days.



On my sewing side -- last week I completed another embroidery & applique' quilt block called Blue Nile. I decided to try using some batik fat quarters I picked up recently. I think it turned out splendid, except I did decide to give another sewing foot to my machine a try after completing this block. Also, I am going to start playing around with using different color threads in the future.




One good thing women are good at is changing their minds . . . I seem to be doing a lot of that lately.

I find this pattern to be simply delightful!

While I sit here at my computer typing, I am hearing birdies chirping from all different directions. It is that wonderful time of the year.

I don't know if they look as cute as the ones in the pattern, but I will keep a smile on my face and imagine so.

Finished Creations

Wynston's Wolf --
Wynston has been busy at it again with his wooden puzzles. A beautiful dragon will appear on here in the near future. We are planning the painting and desired look right now.



He has already pulled out another new puzzle and is eager to get to numbering the pieces.



I finished a few pieces recently and wanted to show my work. I have not quite decided on what they will be added to but am developing ideas and layouts in my head. That to me is the fun part because I used to be unable to visualize things mentally.



This Victorian Cherub pattern was on one of my recent postings here. I wanted to not make it busy and chose to use on two thread colors.

Aunt Mae's Christmas Quilt

I wanted to put on some pictures of a special present I made for Aunt Mae and mailed off to her in Montana recently.

The embroidery blocks are from a blog spot I found called Sentimental Stitches. I just loved stitching these up and will have to do some more in the future for myself!

Embroidery Craze 2009

Off to stitching I go! As the end of 2008 played out and 2009 rang in my fingers have been busy stitching. My mind is a whirl of different patterns to find, colors to choose, projects to make. I am in Wonderland for sure on this new adventure.



Also, I am taking a leap and wanting to photograph and display my creations for others to see. I want to learn to blog and grow on this journey.
