Out For A Little Walk

Yesterday evening was beautiful although a little on the hot side for us at 82 degrees. Today we are barely reaching 61 as rain has cooled us down quite a bit.

Some of the family did a some exploring of a walking, biking, and skating trail. It is called River's Edge Trail. Here are some pictures taken along the way -- beautiful, historical and interesting all the way.

Take some time and check out the Rails to Trails Conservancy Organization who helped establish the trail we visited and some that may be in your state.

A Rose

This picture was taken at the hotel in Salt Lake City.

The Rose Family by Robert Frost

The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But the theory now goes
That the apple's a rose,
And the pear is, and so's
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only know
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose--
But were always a rose.

Advertising is Art

Impressive advertising found in Idaho along the interstate. Wish I would have been going slow enough to take the newly created exit to see about getting a better closer look and photograph.

Also, interesting was research I did online looking at Anheuser-Busch, their history, and selling of the company in 2008. Change has come and I am sure many with the company have not been happy with the "trimming of the fat" that has been going on. Check out the story I read here -- Anheuser-Busch

The Beaverhead - Dillon Montana

On our way to Salt Lake City we stopped at a very nice rest stop on the way out of the state of Montana. The views were spectacular and all of us were ready for a chance to stretch our legs for a while.

Dillon is located at 45°12′57″N 112°38′3″W (45.215735, -112.634055),[2] at an altitude of 5102 feet (1555 m).[3] It lies approximately 40 miles (65 km) east of the Continental Divide.[citation needed]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.2 km²), all of it land.
Dillon is home to the Beaverhead River, a "blue ribbon" fly fishing river.

Legal Vehicle

On a recent trip to Salt Lake City, I was impressed by this sign.

The city also had banners on their poles downtown supporting Bicycle Month in June but I was unable to get a good picture of them.

Salt Lake City is dedicated to reducing automobile congestion on roadways and protecting the public health, safety and welfare. To this end, the city is committed to improving conditions for those who choose to travel by other modes. One of the most popular alternative modes of transportation is bicycling. Salt Lake City encourages bicycling for transportation and as an enjoyable form of exercise and recreation. The following pages help explain how to properly and safely operate your bicycle (vehicle) on the roadway and how you can contribute to making bicycling a more viable mode of transportation in Salt Lake City.
